Dr. Erol Havuz was born in 1970. After finishing his primary and secondary education in Van, he graduated from İstanbul Technical University Faculty of Mining in 1986. A year later, he entered the Faculty of Medicine of Atatürk University.

By preparing for the university exam, he was accepted to Ankara University Faculty of Medicine and completed Ankara Faculty of Medicine with honors. At the end of the Faculty of Medicine, Turkey was ranked 24th in the Medical Specialization Examination (TUS). In 1994, he started working as an assistant at 19 Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine Ophthalmology Clinic. During his years of specialization training, he passed the United States Medical License, known as "The United States Medical Licensing Examination" (USMLE), with high grades. 

After completing his specialist training, he did his conscription at Fatsa State Hospital between 1999-2002. In 2003, he was in Houston, Texas, United States of America as an observer.

He started working as an ophthalmologist at Samsun Mehmet Aydın State Hospital in 2003. After receiving vitreoretinal surgery training at Gazi University Eye Clinic for 5 months in 2004, he established the vitreoretinal surgery unit at Samsun Mehmet Aydın State Hospital in the same year and started to perform this surgery in a state hospital for the first time. He worked at Private Eksen Eye Center between 2009-2014 and at Samsun Medicana Hospital between 2014-2018.

He started working as a faculty member at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Health Sciences since August 2018. He received training on smart lenses, vitreoretinal surgery and macular degeneration in The Institute of Ocular Microsurgery (IMO) Barcelona, Germany, Vienna, Florence and Lisbon. .

After 2020, he completed his training in eye contour rejuvenation and aesthetics.
